Jenna + Paul = Perfect

An outstanding August wedding

Jenna and Paul’s wedding was perfectly unique!

Jenna’s handheld bouquet was unforgettable. Her bouquet was organic and full of texture with a nude and off white palette with a splash of wine. It had burgundy dahlias, white hydrangeas, hanging amaranthus, and mother of pearl roses. Pairing those flowers with the greens of seeded eucalyptus, silver dollar eucalyptus, and broad leaf dusty miller made the bouquet come to life! The bridesmaids got a very similar smaller version of Jenna’s bouquet but with more hints of blush thrown in. For Paul’s boutonniere he had a single white rose with a mix of greens perfectly pulled together with a twine wrap. All the groomsmen and Jenna’s dad had a boutonniere that had matching greens with Paul’s. All of the bouquets and boutonnieres worked together effortlessly!

The reception, which was held at Terrace 167, had flowers flowing from every table. With Jenna and Paul’s wedding, they made everything perfectly unique to their personalities. All of the center pieces from the tables were flowers held in a variation of different bottles giving the venue and rustic and simplistic feel. There was a variation of sizes of bottles giving the center pieces all different heights. All the Feels Photography captured the story of their wedding beautifully!

We wish Jenna and Paul years of happiness and love. We are always happy to help contribute to a couple’s special day!

Danielle & Brian = Meant to Be!
A Gorgeous October Wedding

Reception - The Bog

A little throwback to the stunning wedding of Danielle and Brian, who tied the knot on October 14th.

The couple chose a beautiful arrangement of flowers for their wedding day. Danielle's bouquet was a textured handheld with stems including ivory roses, white hydrangea, burgundy hypericum berries, only one yellow rose, yellow spray roses, yellow solidago, and a mix of greens. The one yellow rose was to commemorate her father, and she brought in his ring to add to the bouquet as well. Brian's boutonniere included two ivory spray roses with mixed greens and burgundy hypericum berries.

Danielle and Brian's ceremony was held at their church, St. Mary's, where they exchanged their "I dos" in the company of many close friends and family. Their day continued on to the reception, which was held at The Bog, with the tables (and cake!) accented with flowers. They danced the night away, surrounded with so much love and laughter.

We were so thrilled to have been part of Danielle and Brian's special day! Congrats to the happy couple, here's to many years of happiness and memories!

Wonderful World of Weddings 2017

After all of the holiday engagements, January marks the start of wedding planning for many. Brides-to-be are busy gathering ideas about their upcoming nuptials, and what better place to be inspired than the Wonderful World of Weddings show at State Fair Park in West Allis. Here, vendors from every corner of the wedding world gather to show off their wares and services, hoping to attract the attention of brides.
We look forward to this show every year, and always put our best foot forward.  Everyone here at Bank of Flowers had a part in the show, from the concept design for the booth, gathering of items to display, the flower designs, and even the set-up and take-down of the booth.  It's all hands on deck for events like this.
Shop owner Melissa Maas and director of operations Ceci Scheuber talked to so many wonderful ladies and their families, it was an amazing weekend!

DIY Pumpkin Centerpiece

We enjoyed making these centerpieces so much for a recent bride!  I can't wait to design my very own and use it for Halloween or Thanksgiving!  To help create your design, I took pictures along the way. I hope this inspires you!

The first step is to pick out a small to medium-sized pumpkin that sits level on a table.  Find a short, but fairly wide vase that will fill the opening you've carved out.  Pre-soak a square of Oasis wet floral foam and place it inside of the vase.  Scoop out the pumpkin guts with a large spoon.  If the vase doesn't fit inside of your pumpkin just right, you can use pieces of styro-foam to prop up your vase so it fits snug.  Top off the wet foam-filled vase with water.

Now comes the fun part!  I started by inserting various greens into the wet foam to cover it up and give a nice base.  Next, I placed the focal flowers to establish the overall shape and size of the arrangement.  After placing the focals, I filled the spaces between with flowers like assorted fall mums and alstromeria.

As a finishing touch, I added preserved fall leaves around the base of the arrangement and in the middle.  This step creates more interest and made the arrangement pop!  To keep your pumpkin arrangement fresh longer, store it in the refrigerator or a cool garage or basement when you are not enjoying it, and don't forget to water it!
Good luck and Enjoy!!

Mia + Brandon = Wedding Day

Reception: The Bog, Saukville
Photographer:  Edward Fox
Month: June

Picture an enchanted forest and this is exactly the atmosphere surrounding Mia and Brandon's Wedding Day.  Mia was a stunning bride, complete with her full ball gown style wedding dress. The wedding arrangements were filled with ivory garden hydrangeas, cream roses, and off white peonies. Birch branches accented it all for a soft woodland feel.Truly magnificent!

Cylindrical vases of 24" tall adorned the length of the church aisle. The vases alternated, some with floating candles and birch branches submerged in water while the others held simply elegant lush mounds of fresh ivory hydrangeas.

The bride's father's kiss on her cheek prior to giving her away was by far my favorite moment of the entire day.

The enchanted forest feel carried over to the reception: the cylindrical vases were used as centerpieces on the tables and the altar arrangements were used by the fireplace.  We absolutely loved the various charming little details, such as the bride and groom's initials as well as the table numbers which were covered in moss and the place card table decorated to resemble a forest floor. And what forest atmosphere would be complete without S'mores? The wedding guests enjoyed these as their favors -- how cute (and delicious!).

The day was truly splendid, from beginning to end and we were so happy to be a part of it. From all of us at Bank of Memories & Flowers, we wish Mia and Brandon a Happily Ever After!
